Observer est un logiciel propriétaire. Son installation et son exécution sont libres et gratuites, y compris sur un serveur commercial ; sa revente, sa redistribution, sa modification et sa rétro-ingénierie ne le sont pas.

Le dépôt de code étant privé, cette page est l'exemplaire public et opposable du fichier LICENSE livré avec le logiciel. Un test du panel refuse la mise en production si les deux divergent d'un seul caractère : une licence publiée qui ne serait pas celle du code ne protégerait ni l'auteur ni l'utilisateur.

This software and its source code are the exclusive property of the Author.
They are protected by copyright law and international treaties.

1. WHAT YOU MAY DO

You may install and run the compiled plugin ("the Software") on Minecraft
servers you own or operate, for any purpose, including commercial server
operation, at no charge and without registration.

You may make backup copies of the Software for your own use.

That permission is granted to you personally. It is not transferable, and it
grants you no right over the Software itself.

2. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

Without prior written permission from the Author, you may not:

  a. SELL, rent, lease, sublicense or otherwise commercialise the Software,
     in whole or in part, alone or bundled with anything else — including
     inside a paid server package, modpack or hosting offer;

  b. REDISTRIBUTE the Software, or host it for download, anywhere other than
     the official channels operated by the Author. Point people at the official
     source instead;

  c. MODIFY, adapt, translate or create derivative works from the Software;

  d. DECOMPILE, disassemble, deobfuscate or otherwise reverse engineer the
     Software, or attempt to derive its source code, detection logic or
     thresholds, except to the strict extent that such an act cannot lawfully
     be prohibited in your jurisdiction;

  e. EXTRACT, reuse or incorporate any part of the Software — code, detection
     methods, thresholds, configuration or assets — into any other project,
     whether free or paid, open source or closed;

  f. REMOVE or alter any copyright notice, licence text, branding or
     attribution contained in the Software;

  g. USE the Software, or knowledge derived from it, to build, train or
     improve a competing anticheat, or to develop or test methods of evading
     it.

3. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

The Software depends on, but does not include, the following components.
Each remains governed by its own licence, and nothing in this document
restricts your rights under those licences:

  - PacketEvents — GPL-3.0 — https://github.com/retrooper/packetevents
    Required at runtime. Installed separately as its own plugin; it is NOT
    bundled into the Software.

The Software does include the following, under permissive licences that allow
it:

  - bStats — MIT — https://bstats.org
  - Gson — Apache-2.0 — https://github.com/google/gson

4. NO WARRANTY

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM, OUT
OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE.

In particular, no warranty is given that the Software will detect any given
form of cheating, nor that it will never report a legitimate player. Any
sanction applied to a player remains the sole decision and responsibility of
the server operator.

5. TERMINATION

This licence terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. On
termination you must stop using the Software and destroy all copies in your
possession.

Ce qui n'est pas couvert par cette licence

Les bibliothèques tierces gardent la leur, et la section 3 du texte ci-dessus les nomme. PacketEvents (GPL-3.0) n'est pas inclus dans le jar d'Observer et s'installe séparément : c'est précisément ce qui permet à Observer de rester propriétaire.
